“Fourthsday” Recap

Yet another month has gone by and of course that means one thing for live music lovers and streamers alike: Thirdsday. Only this time, in honor of St. Patrick’s Day, our live event series was moved back a week for convenience’ sake.

This month took us on a whirlwind of sound from the dynamic and heartbreakingly raw melodies of acoustic guitar slinging redhead, better know as The New Apologetic, to the unabashedly loud and energetic rock-n-roll band that is Mass Driver. Guitar strings were broken, water was spilled on guitars and the night was truly one to remember.

The New Apologetic

7 pm rolled around and Ben (The New Apologetic) quietly made his way to the stage. The room filled with the sound of acoustic guitar ballads and crooning vocals. The room got quiet and all ears were eagerly listening to the undeniably soothing and honest songs that permeated the room. Ben successfully pulled on our heartstrings with tearjerking originals, such as “Trepidation” & “Insurance.”We highly recommend catching one of his live shows for yourself. Next on deck was Mass Driver. The trio of seasoned rock-n-roll musicians took to the stage like a rolling freight train. The songs were loud, fast and in your face, just like any good rock show. Aside from the songs that stood heartily on their own, the live performance was highly entertaining. All you need to know is… 4 broken guitar strings and a frontman who pours water on his guitar is a show you don’t want to miss! As always, thanks for hanging with us here at SoKnox Studios. See you next month.

Thirdsday Recap!

SoKnox Studios held another lived-streamed event for the ages on February 18th of this year! This time we had the bands Pale Root and Arden, who both gave two tremendous performances. As always, the pizza was hot, the beer was ice cold, and the music was jammin’! Also, a big shout out to Joe Vangieri, DigiTrax Entertainment’s very own President and CEO, for helping us kick off this monthly event.

To start off the night, we listened to Pale Root as they brought in some chill vibes with a few cover songs and mostly original songs from their latest self titled album, Pale Root. Pale Root is a musical duo of two Knoxville natives, Aaron Freeman and Jordan Burris. Their music is a combination of folk, country, bluegrass, and modern folk Americana. You can check out Pale Root at their website paleroot.com!

Next up for the night, we had the band Arden come in and they rocked the house! Arden is an alternative jazz rock band originally from Duncan, South Carolina. The band is made up of Alex Rickett, Zach Alling, and SoKnox Studio’s very own intern, Joshua Hoffman. This musical trio are all friends who met in high school and one day decided to mix all of their musical talents and start a band! Stay tuned for Arden’s upcoming album, Arden – Life In 3D.
